Engineering Internship – Summer 2019 Opportunity

We are currently offering a full-time, paid summer internship opportunity at our clean, climate-controlled, state-of-the-art facility in Latrobe, PA

Assist with various process and quality improvement projects. Promote continuous improvement through daily activities. Learn and apply manufacturing concepts on the shop floor.

Specific project descriptions:
Assist with ISO 9001:2015 certification process: including developing processess and documentation that supports the ISO standard.

Production Process Improvement: Analysis and time studies to document process improvements in regard to cycle time and quality in E2 manufacturing software program.

Quality Control Process: Analysis of quality methods to determine best procedures throughout the grinding process. Document methods in E2 manufacturing software program.

Job Responsibilities:
Develop processes and documentation for the Quality Management System that support the ISO 9001:2015 standard with a focus on continuous improvements, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, leadership and evidence-based decision making.

Perform time studies, root cause analysis, and statistical analysis. Develop a format to document and track process changes and improvements.

Job Skills Required:
Current student of accredited Engineering program, or recent graduate
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Detail oriented
Strong computer skills
CAD/CAM knowledge (Inventor/SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Fusion360/MasterCam)
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
Lean Manufacturing Knowledge

Goals of the internship:
Learn our manufacturing process (and manufacturing concepts as a whole), review processes, and the basics of root cause analysis. Assist with implementation of ISO 9001:2015 standard.

Apply coursework to ongoing projects and increase technical abilities
